We’re happy to present our Weekly Recap segment thanks to the brilliant work of Pranav Arora. He’ll be picking his favorite tunes of the week and giving a brief review of each of the tracks.
Martin Garrix feat. Bonn – High on Life (Max Mylian & Aylon Bootleg)
Martin Garrix’s track “High on Life” was one of the most anticipated tracks this year and was recently released after being played as the closing track for Garrix’s set at Tomorrowland. Max Mylian and Aylon’s Hardstyle take on this progressive house track gives the track a very anthemic vibe. The vocals go really well with the hardstyle kick and the drop, making the track very euphoric and energetic. The remix pack for Garrix’s tracks usually contain future bass and house version of his tracks, making this bootleg different from the remixes of Martin’s tracks. I hope to see this bootleg released as an official remix, as it is very fresh and is perfect for festivals.

BLR – Cordoba
Whenever I see a track by BLR, I know the track is going to be extraordinary and “Cordoba” is no exception. The track is another magical deep house by the rising star and has a mesmerizingly groovy vibe to it. The track is perfect for a night ride or a party at the beach under the sun. BLR’s clean production and bright samples blend together to form a progressive deep house masterpiece. This track is my favorite release from this week, as the production is very unique compared to many deep house tracks released nowadays.

San Holo – lift me from the ground
San Holo is one of the best trap producers in the scene with productions that are very fresh and unique. This track is very melodic and has a very chill vibe to it. The sound design, melody, vocals, and drop of this track are pure perfection. After listening to this track, I’m even more hyped for the artist’s upcoming album which will include this track. This is one of those songs which can take the listener on a dreamy journey and can be enjoyed while relaxing after a long day.

Elevven & JES – Heartbeat Tonight
“Heartbeat Tonight” is a powerful track and is a great fusion of the Electro and Progressive Trance sound. The track features angelic vocals from one of the most talented female trance vocalist, JES, and has an amazing breakdown. This track is very interesting, and I really like this track, as tracks like this promote the neoteric sound of the Trance. Tracks like this one, have Electro and Big room elements fused with the trance sound, and have helped the genre grow and be played at major festivals.

Matisse & Sadko, Raiden – Light Me Up
It is good to see that Protocol has been releasing more progressive house again, bringing back its old sound again. I’m happy to see these three talented producers get together for a magical progressive house track, as they have been experimenting with their sound and producing various genres lately. The track has lovely female vocals and well written lyrics which are extremely catchy. The drop is very energetic, and the overall emotion of the track takes me back to the days when progressive house was its peak.

VIZE- Glad You Came

I really enjoyed this version of the track by “The Wanted” which was one of my favorites back in the day. This version of the track is danceable and has a heavy bassline and groovy vibe to it. This track has a very nostalgic feel to it, and the vocals are very soothing, but I would have preferred this to be a remix with the original vocals, as they would sound better and fit the overall vibe if the track.
