EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Liquid Dreams and Their Latest Remix of “Hunger”

Who are you? (Tell us more about what you do in life, where you live, your age, your real name, what elements could define you, …)

We are a brand new liquid drum and bass duo called Liquid Dreams. The duo is composed of Leonardo Straffi (employee at Eonity) and Daniel Dagostin (Co-Founder of Eonity).

We both live in Italy and have a big portion of our heart that is dedicated to the love for liquid drum and bass, a genre which should be listened to more by everyone!

When did you start producing music?

We both started producing music around 8 years ago and the journey has been incredibly beautiful so far.

Which style(s) of music are you currently producing?

The reason why we decided to join forces is to solely produce liquid drum and bass together.

Why did you choose it?

The reason why we chose liquid drum and bass is because this genre is still very undiscovered, only a small portion of EDM fans actually know about it.
The only festivals hosting liquid drum and bass are mainly in the UK and the topic “liquid drum and bass” is nearly never in the mouth of people. We would like to contribute to the discovery of this amazing genre.

Why are you producing music? And more globally, what does “music” mean to you?

Music is a way to express feelings, thoughts, and experiences without actually using real words but sounds. The reason why we produce music is to share our thoughts and feelings with our fans.

Music means everything to us and it is the reason why we know each other.

According to you, what is the best way to develop a business in the music industry?

The only way to develop a proper and organic business is by being different, staying real, and being humble.

Do you have stuff in preparation, future collaborations, or personal projects?

Loads of new liquid drum and bass music is on the way! Keep your eyes open for more “Liquid Dreams” music!

And for the producers out there:

In what Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) are you currently working? And why that one?

We’re currently producing with one of the most known DAWs called FL Studio! The reason why we produce on FL is that initially, the learning process was more straightforward with FL compared to any other DAW. Then, of course, the power of habits took over.

On average, how much time do you spend in the studio on a typical day or week?

It’s hard to give an average as the workload with Eonity is always much but I’d say around 10 to 30h per week.

Do you have any technical tips to share with us (composition, sound design, mixing, mastering, or anything else…)?

Our tip here is to always have the global picture in mind, know what you want to produce, how the end result should sound like, and work hard to make it happen. Another great piece of advice we can give to our audience is to stay humble with your numbers and productions, learn new tricks every day, and finally improve every day.

Let’s talk “Hunger”

What was your inspiration for this track?

We decided to start off our “career” by remixing an already existing song called “Hunger” and made by Baku & Fenris. We loved the original version and wanted to try giving it a more liquid drum and bass track.

How fast did the track come together?

The initial idea was made relatively fast, then, minor fixes for the song in terms of mixing and mastering took relatively long but now we’re here and are super excited to share our version of “Hunger” with the world.

What is the story behind this track?

This song represents the “hunger” you need to have to be able to achieve your dreams in life.

Finally:

Any important people in your life you wanna mention, thank, or talk about?

We wanted to thank the whole Eonity team that is always working perfectly together. Additionally, we wanted to thank all our supporters, without you anything would have been possible!

Anything you wanna add to end up this interview?

Yes, we would like to thank everyone who will enjoy our track and would like to assure everyone that much more has to come!
