Hey,

Hi!

Who are you? (Tell us more about what you do in life, where you live, your age, your real name, what elements could define you, ā€¦)

I am Raymart Pascua, I’m 20 years of age, currently, I live in Texas US. I am a Filipino immigrant.

Whatā€™s the meaning behind your artistic name?

Heaven Fell to me is a derivative story from the Catholic religion where I also dive into expanding supernatural happenings with the decision of my characters, and Heaven Fell is one of the scenarios in that story that I am building.

When did you start producing music?

7 years ago, I started with a copy of FL Studio from my buddy, recently bought my own license, and have never been happier.

How did it all start for you?

Ā Listening to Skrillex, Kill The Noise, Spag Heddy & Virtual Riot. My music taste grew more fond of the heavier bass music side of EDM, curious to see how they do music, and I started looking at what programs they used.

Which style(s) of music are you currently producing?Ā

I generally make dubstep (subgenres deathstep & tearout), but Iā€™m experimenting more with melodic combinations and creating a unique sound to stand out from thousands of producers that make the same genre.

Why did you choose it?

I choose to make this type of music because I like storytelling and ominous orchestra (considering I donā€™t have a musical background in orchestra), making music under this genre creates that tension that I really love.

Why are you producing music? And more globally, what does ā€œmusicā€ mean to you?

I produce music for the sake of storytelling and building a universe out of my own imagination, to me music is something that expresses real life and creates a story visualizing the universe thatā€™s been built to the story.

Where do you get your inspiration?

Code: Pandorum, Evilwave, Phaseone, Marauda & Virtual Riot.

What is one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you hear it?

Rootkit – Against The Sun, this song never gets old for me, it has this melody that I canā€™t forget and itā€™s rare for me to have a song stuck in my head.

According to you, what is the best way to develop a business in the music industry?

Branding, a great marketing strategy, and building your fans from friends sharing and supporting you.

But most important is branding.

Do you live from your musical activities? If not, do you plan to make a living from music in the future?

Not yet, and yes! I know I can do this with the amount of support Iā€™m getting.

Do you have stuff in preparation, future collaborations, or personal projects?

I have a few projects that Iā€™ll be revealing this year that will shape my brand and start my career.

And for the producers out there:

In what Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) are you currently working? And why that one?

FL Studio. I grew up using this DAW and I donā€™t plan on leaving FL (Iā€™ll just add other DAWs to my arsenal)

On average, how much time do you spend in the studio on a typical day or week?

40 hours a week mostly

Do you have any technical tips to share with us (composition, sound design, mixing, mastering, or anything elseā€¦)?

Reference tracks that you like (in terms of mixing and mastering), study like 10% of music theory (basic minor major scales), experiment with FM (itā€™s fun), and never stop making music that you like!

Letā€™s talk about ā€œAngel of Deathā€

What was your inspiration for this track?

A couple of mixtures between Marauda, Seven Lions, Virtual Riot & Han Zimmer.

How fast did the track come together?

I was basically done with the track about a year ago, it was one of the few tracks Iā€™ve stacked for my Heaven Fell brand (also launched this brand 10 months ago).

What is the story behind this track?

The story begins with a jarring event of a girl who died, all relatives & friends ā€œmournā€ her, she ascends back as a spiritual figure and creates chaos. Her mother who she loved so much appears in front of her and calms her down, she then reverts the chaos she created and moves on to the heavens.

Finally:

Any important people in your life you wanna mention, thank, or talk about?

I am thankful to be close friends with Perses (former Crystalize), GAWM, Avance, Ivory, etc. for guiding me and helping me!
Special mention to the upcoming artists Aaron Steel, Asaspades, Omas, Octobit, Seda, Decipher, Mr. Fink & so many more that I canā€™t think off the top of my head. Theyā€™re all great artists with a unique touch!

Anything you wanna add to end up this interview?

I wanna end this with a quote that hit me.
ā€œFeedback is just a personā€™s opinion, whether you take it by heart or take it with a grain of salt. You can agree to some but you donā€™t have to agree to everything. Make the music you want to make, not what people want.ā€

Thank you very much for your time!

Youā€™re very welcome, thank you for this interview!
