You arrive, it’s 4am at the last stop of the night. The venue is an old concert hall; neon lights, a smoke filled room, stickers and posters cover its torn walls. An old marble staircase coaxes you downward to the beaten dance floor and pit. From the balcony you climb downward, the stairs handrails guiding each step, paint chips off in your hands as you caress its surface revealing an old and blemished iron core bleeding through. An old chandelier watches and floats tirelessly above you. Crooked, decorated and garbed with silky cobwebs, its dressed appropriately for the occasion.
As you make way to the stage, mic feedback alerts you to the beginning of a new act. The crowd stirs as light chatter and banter floods the floor. In a sudden rush like an incoming storm, Triplight’s guitar chords shriek outward slicing the air, leaving you gasping for breath. Adams Beaumont’s voice, ethereal bounces from wall to wall as he stands silhouetted close to the mic. But Adam sings an all too familiar sound. The one that brought you on this long bingeful night out. An ode to fleeting love. A love like nails clinging to the edge of a cliff, a wretched grasp to hold on to and imprison a seemingly hopeless romance.
