Hey,
Hi!! Thanks for having me. It’s a big pleasure to be here with you.
Who are you? (Tell us more about what you do in life, where you live, your age, your real name, what elements could define you, …)
I’m Aitor, a 28-year-old producer from Segovia (Spain) and a guy who is trying to make his hobby a way of life.
What’s the meaning behind your artistic name?
Well, this question is easy, haha. No more than my name and a physical characteristic of mine, which was a nickname years ago.
When did you start producing music?
It was almost 6 years ago, at the end of 2015. I don’t know if it was too late to start a music career (or try) but I think it was the perfect moment for me.
How did it all start for you?
I always loved electronic music. It’s one of my passions.
One day I started releasing my own DJ sets but after months, I didn’t feel it was enough for me. So I started to investigate the “production world” because I really wanted to make something unique.
Which style(s) of music are you currently producing?
I’ve been producing progressive house for years but now I’m trying similar styles as melodic techno or house. Overall, more “clubby” tracks.
Anyways, I’ll keep producing progressive house tracks because it is my favorite genre of all time and I’m feeling more comfortable with it.
Why did you choose it?
I didn’t choose it. I don’t know how to explain. Maybe it sounds bizarre but I think progressive chose me.
Why are you producing music? And more globally, what does “music” mean to you?
Producing music has become a habit for me. I can’t live without it and when the ideas flow, the time runs. Also, it’s the best way to share my feelings.
Where do you get your inspiration?
Well, it never comes from the same place but listening to songs of the style I want to work in usually helps me a lot.
What is one track that never gets old for you no matter how many times you hear it?
Difficult question! I couldn’t say only one! Maybe “Don’t You Worry Child” (SHM) or Toulouse (Nicky Romero) for example.
According to you, what is the best way to develop a business in the music industry?
As a DJ/producer your music should have enough quality but Social Media is very important too, maybe 50%-50%. Most artists think releasing music is the only way to grow but they are wrong.
They should take care of their image too and maybe create a brand around their music.
What has been your favorite gig (show) so far?
Honestly, I haven’t got the opportunity to play in front of a lot of people, only small parties in my city.
Anyways, I’ve played in front of my friends a few times and I think those are my favorite sets so far.
Do you live from your musical activities? If not, do you plan to make a living from music in the future?
No, I don’t but it would be awesome!
Do you have stuff in preparation, future collaborations, or personal projects?
Yes, I do! I have a few tracks ready for release in the next few months. 90% solo tracks and an official remix for a big artist. You have to wait a bit! Haha.
Also, I just started with my own radio show, called “Blond’s Area”, where I’m playing my favorite tracks of the last month. You can enjoy the 1st episode on Youtube and Soundcloud:

I have a playlist on Spotify too, which I updated every weekend:

And for the producers out there:
In what Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) are you currently working? And why that one?
Fl Studio! In my opinion, it’s the most intuitive DAW out there. It’s easy for me to work with it.
On average, how much time do you spend in the studio on a typical day or week?
It depends on the day but I could say 4-5 hours. Not only working on my own music but also doing mixing and mastering for other artists, creating posts about “tips for producers” for Instagram (Aitor Blond (@aitor_blond) • Instagram, or working on my radio show.
Do you have any technical tips to share with us (composition, sound design, mixing, mastering, or anything else…)?
It isn’t very technical but I think this tip has helped me a lot to achieve good quality songs: work always with reference tracks. Those tracks should be the same genre, have similar vibes of the idea you want to produce, and the highest sound quality possible.
Let’s talk “Freedom in the Mind”
What was your inspiration for this mix?
Recording a mix is always fun and it’s a way to show people the music I like and how I can mix it. The opportunity of doing that for Eonity is really good for me and I hope your listeners will be able to enjoy it.
How fast did the mix come together?
I worked on the song selection for 2 days, I think (not all day of course haha). After that, the next day I recorded the mix and sent it to Lucky.
What is the story behind this mix?
I had the mission of giving the people an hour (more or less) where they could focus only on listening to good music and don’t think about anything more. I hope I have achieved it!
Finally:
Any important people in your life you wanna mention, thank, or talk about?
Of course!!! I’m very thankful to everyone who has followed me since the beginning and keeps supporting me and my music. They are a fundamental pillar in my humble career.
Anything you wanna add to end up this interview?
Talk about Eonity is talk about high quality so be here is a big pleasure for me. Thanks for having me.
Keep working hard!
Thank you very much for your time!
I hope this interview has been interesting to all of you. Have a nice day and stay safe! Cheers!
